Oh wow. Looks like they had fun. Great shots! The Dalmatian butt shot is funny.
Very handsome dogs. I rarely get to see Dals.
Your dogs are beautiful. I love looking at pics of them:D
Oohhhh, I'm in heaven! Your dogs are stunning! :D

When I was a little girl I wanted a Dalmatian sooo bad. You don't see them around here though. I've met a couple briefly, though out my life but never really spent time around one and I don't know much about them.......... Yours are especially beautiful! Thanks for sharing the pics....... The Dal butt shot is too funny! LOL! :p
Love the dock picture. Looks like a really fun, refreshing day!

Thank you, we ALL had a good time.

FourIsCompany: Love the dock picture. Looks like a really fun, refreshing day!

Me too! We were getting attacked by super-sized mosquitos there and stayed as long as we could. But it was a fun filled day.

Thank you, you're sweet. I had wanted one as a kid too. Funny thing is, I couldn't find any show breeders in the US to sell me one, so I ended up paying through the teeth for a Dal from Nova Scotia, Canada. Nowadays, they wouldn't think twice about not selling me a show dog. Spose they underestimated me.

ladyshadowhollyjc: Great pics! Absolutely gorgeous dogs!

Thank you!!! I'm really enjoying this camera.

MarleysGirl: Your dogs are beautiful. I love looking at pics of them

Awwee, thanks...you're making them blush (he he).

rosemaryninja: Very handsome dogs. I rarely get to see Dals.

Thank you, I wonder why that is? Makes me wonder if the aftermath of 101 Dalmatians and all the BYB, puppy mill Dals made a bad impression on the public.

They did and thank you. Jewel was leaning over the edge of the dock and pawing at the water. When all of a sudden she fell in, nose dived ALL the way to the bottom, touched it (with her nose) and then slowly floated up. It was one of the funniest things I had ever seen a dog do. Hubby and I kept saying I wish we would've had our video cam. It was so entertaining just watching the dogs have fun, make choices, etc.. Oh and on the way back to the car from the lake, we only passed one person. Right at the moment we were passing them, I trip on Spotacus and crash and burn right in front of theis guy. Hubby and I laughed and laughed, and the guy ODDLY calmly looks up from his book, and then goes back to reading. We couldn't believe the guy didn't laugh. It wa kinda of embarrassing. I don't even trip and fall on ice skates. LOL.

Finally! I don't mean to sound demanding but I was waiting for more pics of your dogs ;) I believe I'm on the verge of getting cravings for certain dalmations . Your dogs are adorable! And they look so well trained and like such a joy to have around. Look forward to seeing more!
I am so jealous, first of your dogs which are absolutley gorgeous! And sceondly of your camera, what kind do you have? It takes awesome pictures. Great action shots of them. However, I especially love the butt on the dock picture. It looks like a greeting card (a funny one.)

I use a Nikon D70 I got off Craigslist for a good deal. I was looking for a D40, and found this one instead. They BOTH take excellent photos - just set on Auto. Also, lenses make a BIG difference. I'm going to have someone teach me how to actually use it though, hopefully it will improve the quality of my pics. Thank you for the compliments! I really like the butt photo too.

LOL, Thanks! I'll hafta to post again when I get some new ones ;) Well trained, hmmm, LOL for the most part they are very good. But can be bark heads sometimes. Hard to stop 5 dogs from fixated barking <-- when someone comes over. A joy to have around, ABSOLUTELY! I totally love them all.

Oh they are gorgeous! You wouldn't think a dog with spots could look so regal, but that's really what I think of dalmations.
GREAT PICS AS ALWAYS AlaskaDals!!!
I think you are one of my new FAVORITE Picture posters!!!
Yaya!!!!

Love the pictures.

I realized about a week ago when I went for a walk a bit earlier (about 5 a.m.) and saw a woman with a Dalmation that I may never have seen one in person. Crazy, huh? She stopped to let our dogs sniff each other and she says she comes out early because little kids love to stop the dog and she never gets a good one in.

It was a brief conversation as our dogs seemed uninterested in each other after they each had a good sniff, but I really liked the little bit I got to see of the Dalmation.

I know they had problems after the movie came out, but I'll have to add them to my list of breeds to look into some day far off in the future.

Awwe thanks, I really enjoy yours equally as much! I especially like those artistic ones. However I'm finding my DSL connection not very good, so I declined to respond to the threads that a jam packed with pics. It takes forever to open! But I did see yours, and your room with the new artwork! Very awesome.

Thank you, and how amazing what you can find in the neighbor if we wake up early for a stroll. LOL. That's cool you got to meet that Dalmatian. If you ever want referral on a reputable breeder, or help finding a great rescue, just drop me line and I'd be glad to help.

I love the photos. You have a great eye!!! They bring back some great memories of my little buddy Chip.
Michael, I love your website for Chip. I read it all and went to his pics page. What a wonderful life he had, he was loved. He was beautiful and had character. Also thanks for your kind words. I'm going to be keeping my eye out for more Patches pics and Neka pics ;) Both are loved as well and beautiful souls.

I don't know why either. I actually grew up with a Dal; it was already an adult when I was born. I don't remember all that much about it because it passed away when I was a toddler, but I remember playing with it... it would play fetch and knock me off my tricycle when I was riding it, but it would also let me ride on its back like a horse. (Something that I do not encourage kids to do with any dog now.) It was very rambunctious.

I don't know if this is true at all, but I've heard some things about how the Dal gene pool is a little messed up. Obviously the contribution of post-101 BYBs haven't helped one bit, but also because the focus has been on creating the spotty coat pattern for so long that other aspects of the breed have been affected, including temperament. I have never met anyone who really has extensive knowledge on Dals, so do you have any thoughts on this?
beautiful dogs and great pictures! I never see dalmatians anywhere, yours are gorgeous!
