.... has adoption pending status on the beagle website.

I got an email earlier this week about a family interested in him. They're perfect, so as bittersweet as it is, it's a little more sweet than bitter.

I am so honored to have been able to foster him, to pull him from the last room he would see before they ended his short one year long life.

He is the snuggliest, most annoying, pain in the butt, loveable hound I have ever met.

If his adoption goes through, he will have a 4 and 5 year old brother and sister (humans,) a 12 year old beagle sister, and a dad who works from home every day except Monday. And on mondays, a neighbor kid comes over and plays with the dogs 3 times a day. they have a pool. They are beagle people. I probably couldnt have picked a better home for him had I tried. Im sad that his journey with me is coming to an end, but I am SO excited for his new beginning.

Its been my pleasure dude

I don't know what it is about hounds, but I have found that they have a way of endearing themselves to you through all their bad behaviors. I find badly behaving labs annoying to say the least, yet hounds get away with it. Not sure why.

Thanks, guys.

And while I think the ears have something to do with it, they are also the cuddliest dogs I have EVER dealt with. One minute JD can be howling his head off making me wish I only had goldfish, the next hes snuggling, with his head asleep on my chest.

Aww, yay for JD
Thanks!

I dunno. Zero, my cocker spaniel, has the same floppy ears and I think I would get really ticked at him if he was tipping my trash can on a regular basis. There is something about a hound though that makes it hard to stay mad at them. Good thing too or there'd be a lot of dead hounds.
haha. I havent had my trash can in the house in 3 years. luckilly, both my last 2 houses have had the garage door in the kitchen, so its just a quick door open to throw something out.

The lady hasnt emailed me. She said she would get back to me either Wednesday or Thursday. Who knows.

Good job on finding him a new home! I have to admit I was hoping you'd find a way to keep him, but this is the next best thing.

Foster homes are great things. I hope you'll keep doing it (and post about it, so I can experience it vicariously). :)

Well it looks like he'll be hanging around for a little while longer. His home fell through :(

They said they had some unexpected expenses and could not afford the adoption fee at this time.

But I emailed the rescue and told them and they said they have a few applications for him.

Sigh.... its only a matter of time.

Sorry to hear the home didn't work out:( It just wasn't meant to be then. I'm sure a better home will come along for him.
Yup. He's jumpy too, so they would have had to work on that with the kids anyway.

I was getting myself all ready to say goodbye, and now he's staying for a while now, lol.

He really has settled into our routine so it's no bother having him.
