Issues with my dog

I just need some help with my current dog.
He has issues that I cannot deal with anymore. He was given to me by my mom, she got him from my grandmother who no longer wanted him. When we first got him from my grandmother he was fine, then we got him fixed.
I am at my wits end.
After getting fixed (4 years ago) he has become extremely fearful and skittish, I don't know what to do. It's to the point where I can no longer deal with him.

Has the dog gone through some traumatic experience? He was at your granny's, then your mom's, and now at your's place, perhaps that's where all the troubles come from. Maybe it takes time for your dog to get used to these changes.
If you don't think that's the issue, tell us more on that behavior that drives you crazy, give us an example!
