Hi, I am new to the group and looking advice. We got Ruby 3 weeks ago and she is 13 weeks old.
She was advertised as KC registered Cocker spaniel pup when we got her.

While she does look similar to Cocker spaniel I have had a lot say she has labrador features and why is the hair on her ears not longer at this stage? Thanks for any advice. Thanks

The hair on her ears might not come in until she's a bit older. They have a "puppy coat" and an "adult coat". There can be a lot of variation in the breed just because some are field line (which seem to be less fluffy) and some are show line. A few coworkers of mine recently got some cocker spaniel puppies bred for hunting, and they look very much like yours.

Really, the only way to tell if you don't believe the breeder is to get a DNA test.

She looks to be either a field/working line Cocker, and not a show line Cocker (and definitely not an American Cocker). As mentioned, "wockers" don't have nearly as much coat or furnishings as a show line dog would.
