we are seniors and just lost out little tea cup doggy after 11 good years so we want to get another doggy young yet no more than 8 pounds . is this possible from a shelter or a private dog seller with a store?
Adopting a young adult from a shelter is a good option if you don't want to go to a reputable breeder. Adopting from a rescue organization that keeps their dogs in foster homes and carefully evaluates them before placement is an even better option.
Please don't buy a puppy or dog from a pet store. Puppies sold in pet stores come from commercial breeders (aka puppymills) that frequently care less about their dogs than livestock breeders do about their swine or cattle being raised for market.
