Hi all, Kiba is out first time owned dog and we just got him nuetered Monday. I noticed his site doesn't look the same as it had when it was first done and im worried that its infected? Its been really hard as well keeping Kiba calm because he's such an energetic dog. He ran around the yard twice. Also, they gave us a cone thats not really for his size which they had told us, so I dont know if he's been messing with the site while we've been sleeping or what, but it doesn't look normal.
I called the vet and they said they didn't have an appointment till Saturday, but im wondering if we should find somwhere else that could look at him if its an emergency?

Have you asked if you can send your vet the picture so they can more accurately determine whether it's an emergency or not? Or the emergency vet, if your regular one is closed for the holidays. More and more vet clinics have set up some way to send them pictures so they can better avoid unnecessary in-person visits during the pandemic, so it's worth asking around.

Just to note, it is against the rules here for anyone to try to diagnose or suggest treatment for a medical issue, because even well-meaning advice can cause harm if it's incorrect. Basically none of us could tell you if it definitely is or is not infected, but hopefully we can figure out something that'll help you get answers from a veterinary professional!

I meant to get back on this, my mom gave me the number for our family vet that had moved out of Florida but she said its normal still even though it looks really painful.

I'd still go to a vet for a second opinion, a picture isn't always an accurate deception of the wound.
