In two days, I'll be collecting my Long Haired Dachshund (they are so cute!) from the breeder. I have been waiting for nearly six months so I've read plenty of puppy books.

My only concern is socializing and safety during COVID, has anyone adopted a puppy recently? How did you deal with socializing?

As far as socialization, It's really more of exposing them to the world, and letting them see it ("it" being everything) from a distance they are comfortable with. They don't need to greet every person, dog, cat, etc. that they come across. Just seeing things and learning that they aren't scary is the biggest part of socialization.
