Please reply only if you KNOW, and it has worked for you. Is there anything you can give a dog orally that helps keep fleas away.

I have heard of different things but do they really work?

Vitamin E

garlic

brewers yeast

etc.

Do YOU do this and does it work? Does it help with keeping those pesky things away.

I am going to be getting guinea hens to help with ticks....

I want to hit every angle here to fight these things

Capstar will kill all fleas on the dog for 24 hours, and it's oral, but it's not a repellant or long-term protective.

Garlic will help to repel but won't be 100%. The best thing I've found to END the cycle is spraying Nematodes in the yard to kill the larvae. You can get Nematodes from a garden supply store, then inside use borax on the carpets and furniture to kill the eggs and larvae.
