Break the lease. It'll be less expensive than the extra rent and hefty deposit you are offering. Also, the owners are not moving.......

You may need the cash for the recovery of Kai.

There are always places to rent. Have you checked for open units at your previous place? Or advance your plans to buy a home. Then you don't have to mess with owners.

Even thought the husband/wife owners disagree. You still have no grounds to bring a pet into that unit. Consider this......say the owners allow you to bring the pet. Later, they change their minds......... you could be up for eviction plus any perceived damages. IMHO, not worth the risk.

Break the lease. Find another place to live which allows pets or push you home purchase ahead.

Typically, when you break a lease the owner will keep the last month's rent and deposit.

You can just walk out forfeiting the last month rent and deposit. There should not be a penalty.

Suggest to review your rental contract and contact your lawyer again on the subject.
