Ok so i am still waiting for the rest of my stuff to get here.......

the facilities are awesome..if anyone doesn't know i moved back in with my mother, i live in a separate house on the property, she needed some help and i needed to get back to civilisation. I was living out in the middle of nowhere for close to 2 years, it was more than i could take. Nelson the bcXkelpie is still here and has found a friend in the goat, the shepherd is a bit wary of everything and is sticking close, she's also not eating a lot, but she does that when she's stressed, the corso has managed to destroy 3 rows of carrots in the veggie garden, two roses and riding boots already, and the jack russell is like...yeah whatever. So mum has 3 border collies that used to belong to me, they were my breeding bitches, all are spuetered now and getting on in years, i tried to take a picture but the camera flashed and now every time they see the camera they run and hide, i'll try to get a shot one day, when they're unawares...mum has managed to turn them from working collies into pampered hollywood Chihuahuas. They're nothing like they used to be...oh well....

anyway the facilities are all there and i was looking at a list of local dog breeders yesty (as soon as i got near the facilities I got the itch back...breeders know what i mean) and low and behold there is a local breeder of rat terriers, I've always been very interested in these little dogs and I called the breeder and she has a main registered tan and white girl for sale...I'm so tempted....I'd love to breed these little things, they are not at an unrealistic price either...should I?

I'm so tempted, i can financially deal with it, and I now have the facilities...........Tell me what to do oh wise and wonderful dogforumians:p

I would recommend getting involved with the breed before diving head first into breeding them. I would start with joining your local Rat Terrier club, then finding a mentor, and then investing in a breeding bitch or dog.

Does the breeder of the rat terrier pperform all the necessary health tests? Are her terriers proven? As other said, I would become more involved in the breed first.

Personally, I wouldn't buy from a breeder who breeds multiple breeds. I'd make sure rat terriers are your true interest and not just what's available.

well she's main registered, i'll probably be doing gun dog work, therapy and a bit of showing....

if she goes well and proves herself and is a good example of her breed, then perhaps someday maybe...

not really concerned about breeding labs....i'll just have fun with her for now :)
