so we had switched to "back to basics" after the TOTW recall. i loved it, and my dogs loved it. their poops were soooo tiny and they looked great. my fiance complained that it was too expensive so i gave "earthborn" a try.... now chloe has a cast iron belly and has had no problems, aside from gas. lexi has had not so great poop on it, and TERRIBLE CLEAR THE ROOM GAS! its just not working for her. as much as i hate to have to buy 2 different foods, its probably whats just going to have to happen. i can for sure afford to feed the food with only one dog on it. *sigh* if anyone hasnt heard of the food, this is the ingredient list for their turkey based food:

Turkey Giblets (Turkey Livers and Turkey Hearts) , Turkey Meal , Turkey , Chicken Meal , Tapioca , Pea Protein , Poultry Fat (Turkey & Chicken, Naturally Preserved with Mixed Tocopherols) , Dried Whole Egg , Whole Flaxseed , Menhaden Fish Oil , Natural Chicken Flavor , Peas , Sunflower Oil , Salt , L-Carnitine , Potassium Chloride , Zinc Proteinate , Iron Proteinate , Vitamin E Supplement , L-Ascorbyl-2-Polyphosphate (Source of Vitamin C) , Choline Chloride , Biotin , Copper Proteinate , Manganese Proteinate , Niacin , Calcium Pantothenate , Sodium Selenite , Vitamin A Supplement , Riboflavin Supplement , Vitamin D3 Supplement , Thiamine Mononitrate , Vitamin B12 Supplement , Calcium Iodate , Pyridoxine Hydrochloride , Folic Acid.

My girl gets horrible gas from grains. She can eat almost any meat or dry food with no grains, (lamb might be too rich, but she may also have eaten some grains when we tried it) but all grains sets her off. It is AWEFUL. It gets better if she gets beano or gas-x, but that gets too expensive in the long run. Also, she looks very uncomfortable when she has her gas 'episodes' and since she's a big breed known for getting bloat, bloat worries me too ... so I feed her an expensive food she does wonderful on ... and eat a whole lot less than when she was on food with grains.
