My wife and i have been marreid for about 10 months. and we got a pomaranian poodle that is a very nice dog that is about 6 months old and 7lbs. It requires so much time and attention. I can run 3 miles with it and it comes back with more energy than when we started. I go to work and come back after a ful work day and this dog bothers me the entire night. I like the dog, but i just have no time to recooperate from the day when hes just barking and biting and eating paper and jumping up and nipping at my cl0thes and arms all the time.

I have looked for dog walkers and dog trainers, but they were all too expensive.

What should i do with this dog...

Thanks for your help.

First, running with a puppy is usually not advised as you can damage developing growth plates and cause lifelong issues.

I would take it for at least a few walks a day while you start reading some training books and watching training videos. Then start training daily at home. I would implement NILIF (Nothing in Life is Free) so your dog can start learning some boundaries and self control.

Here are two free online books about training and raising puppies: http://www.dogstardaily.com/free-downloads

A good step by step training book that is laid our like a training class is Pat Miller's The Power of Positive Dog training.

You can also see a lot of great training videos on kikopup's youtube channel. http://www.youtube.com/user/kikopup

A good sticky on how to stop puppy biting: http://www.dogforums.com/first-time-dog-owner/8377-bite-stops-here.html

Work on training. He gets some physical exercise but he needs mental stimulation, too. What's he doing all day while you're at work?

What does your wife do with him? Do either of you have the type of jobs where you can come home for lunch?

You can start with the Kikopup training videos on YouTube for basic training ideas. It sounds like your training might have been rather sparse so far.

You'll probably also want to work on crate training and providing toys that will keep the dog mentally stimulated. Bored dogs can become destructive, especially smart ones. Kongs and other puzzle toys can accomplish this.
