We brought Mayzie home a little over two weeks ago. My hubby works from home so the dogs spend the day hanging out with him in his office. Well, he had to fly out of town for business yesterday and will be gone all week. So the dogs are home without "adult supervision" today and I'm sitting here at work, worried about Mayzie!

The thing that makes this stupid is that she's in her crate (which she loves) so she can't get into any trouble. And we've left them on a couple of occasions for 1 - 2 hours at a time since we've had her. And she's been just FINE. But I can't quit thinking about her and worrying that she's freaked out that there's not a human in the house.

I'm going home for lunch in about 15 minutes to walk them and I'm sure it will turn out that I'm crazy for worrying. But I just can't help it!

Thanks for listening. Just wanted to vent to some people who wouldn't think I am completely out of my gourd! :p

I don't think your crazy...I think you and I would get along great. I am the same way about my dogs...If I have to go away, I worry the entire time and try to get home as quick as possible. When they are older and no longer need to be kenneled when I go away I don't worry as much, but I still do. Ruby is just 4 months old so she IS kenneled, Quincy is 5 and really is a good boy and is very trustworthy so he is free in the house.

Hehe- Like Jbsmomto1 said, you're not crazy.

I worry too. Donatello is a couple years old, and has yet to prove me he's not trustworthy of staying home alone, unsupervised or otherwise. He doesn't chew on anything but the things I hand him, he doesn't pee/poo anywhere, and he doesn't chew on or play with any of the toys that aren't in his basket.

From what I can tell, he gets down from the sofa to drink, maybe eat a little bit, then gets back up on his bed on the sofa... Which is what I like. lol!

I still worry from time to time, but while I'm gone, I turn on cartoons- Kiddie cartoons like "Clifford". If it was completely quiet in the house, who knows, it might make him a little nervous...

Thanks for the support, guys! Of course, she was fine. I knew she would be, but I can't help but worry about my new baby girl! Our other dog, Ranger, seemed to be more wound up about being left alone today. (And very disappointed when he realized that "dad" wasn't coming in the door with me. They're best buds!)

Oh, and Deege, I put the radio on for them this morning but for some reason it was off when I got home. It's my husband's so I don't know if he has it on a time or something? I'll have to figure that out because I always like to keep some sort of music/tv/etc. on when they're home alone so they don't feel so...well...alone!
