So My husky (two yrs old) has always assumed she was a tiny animal - a kitten perhaps, or a squirrel. Usually she goes about her day pouncing off of things -

LATELY she's got this random habit of, well.. for instance..

My partner is sitting on the couch watching TV... Zasha (said husky) walks up to her and with a ZOOM of energy jumps up and uses partners chest as a spring board to bounce off of.. What IS that??

She will jump on the couch and pounce off your back, or your chest, or if you're laying down she'll just jump and pounce right onto my stomach or feet.. she does it to my other dog all the time and he just gives her a look... BUT she doesnt know her own strength and it freakin hurts when she does that.. not to mention that it's terrible behavior..

YES she gets enough exercise.

any thoughts?

my youngest husky, keno, who is just about to turn 5 months on monday does what i call zoomies around the house. they involve him running full speed through the house, over the other dogs and using the couch and love seat as spring boards.

he gets pleanty of exercise and such, and we have tried correcting him, but that hasnt seemed to work. we have gotten him to the point where he will avoid anyone sitting on the mentioned furniture, but thats about as far as we have gotten.
thank goodness the akita and other husky dont partake, otherwise i think i might have a big problem!

omgosh Zasha does the zoomies at 4pm and sometime between 9pm and midnight.. it NEVER fails...

one thing we've noticed when she does it, if we say "NO!" really loud and point to the crate, she runs into her crate mid-zoomie (sometimes she skids into it and its really freakin cute)... I dont close the crate door but I stand there about 2 feet in front of it until she lays down on her own, then I let her come out when she's calm. Sometimes before she lays down she gets real vocal and yells at me for standing in front of the crate - or so it seems.

Zoomies is a great name for it!.....My Husky does this too!....He will just get up and take off -- for about 3-4 minutes then lay down and sigh -- it's really funny and I'm glad I have a big house & yard!:)....Just gotta love those Huskies!!

Zoomies? Did someone say zoomies.... shhhhh. Ilya forgot about it today. He's a bit disappointed because it is quite hot outside. I thought he was going to pass out after letting him outside for a few minutes.

Just yesterday, he discovered he could clear the sofa if he starts from the bedroom. He didn't break any old rules because he did manage to stay off of the sofa. To get us to chase him, he grabs something he knows we don't want him to fave and prances out of sight. This is going to be a long summer if I don't find him an indoor air-conditioned playground.

That is known as "FUN!". My pup used to do that when I was sleeping on the couch. My wife would bring him in from the beach and he'd tear around the house, using me for a trampoline on each circuit. Apparently, it's even more fun for a dog when he's wet. One of us enjoyed the H-E-double-hockey sticks out of that game. Hint: it wasn't me.
