This was posted to my facebook page from my neighbor, she's involved with some rescue groups in my area.

Gabbie is a sweet Border Collie mix who is looking for her new forever home! Please consider giving her a chance:) She is super sweet and still quite active for being 11. She is great with kids and other dogs (not sure about cats). She is spayed, current on her rabies vaccine and heartguard. Please contact Chelsea @ 352-xxx-xxxx or [email protected] if you are interested!!

Who would dump an 11 year old dog? All I can ask is what is wrong with people...

Edit: Also, anyone in the central FL area that may or may not be interested or know someone, PM me and I can give you the real info.

Who does that? Half of everyone it seems. There are 50 dogs in my local shelter. 30-35 of them are always under 2, the other 15-20 are always 10 and over. It just kills me. I cannot imagine giving Muggsy up at 10 when he started to slow down. He was my best friend of 9 years at that point. The thought of just dumping him so I didn't have to deal with a little arthritis and such, no. I can't even imagine. I don't want to.

I know and I would love to take her but living in a trailer park with my crazy grad school schedule it just isn't possible. She looks so happy and sweet in her pictures too! I always wanted to adopt an older dog, maybe once I'm stable I'll get the opportunity.

I can't stand that. Something worse than dumping an animal is dumping an old animal.
I know a woman who kept her sibe until she was very old, arthritic and possibly had hip displaysia. When the dog start howling in pain, she dumped her at the shelter. :\
These people will be old someday too, and I feel that's when karma will catch up with them.

How very sad .... I do hope someone with a good heart comes along and adopts her. I cannot imagine giving up your dog after all those years they have given of themselves. :(
