Gody is actually a mutt that a friend of my girlfriend gave her. He's just a playful little rascal that just enjoys being a dog.

Welcome to the site. So long as you remember that you're not EVER allowed to express an opinion that differs from the clan mentality that abounds here, you'll be fine.
Smile, nod, comment on how cute people's dogs are, and be sure to acknowledge that dogs should be treated better than people at all costs... Oh, and don't forget to cook your dog a homecooked meal every night, lest you be misconstrued as a bad dog owner.
Is "owner" DF incorrect? After all, they ARE dogs, not pets, right?
