Hey I have a 35 pound and 7 month old border collie mix puppy. During walks when going back home he starts to jump up and bit our arms, legs and the leash. He does this like every time but only when heading back home. He recognizes the common land marks that indicate we are near our home and starts jumping and biting. How do I stop this? I sometimes step on his leash for a minute or two to calm him down but he will start again once I get up. I have tried getting him to sit but he will start again when he gets back up. The only thing that stops him now is picking him up and carrying him in. His bites are starting to get pretty hard and leave marks and draw some blood. This is the only aggressive/bad behavior he has and is generally easily frightened otherwise.

Well....you are starting correctly. But YOU must keep stepping on the leash and getting the dog calm BEFORE you move from that spot.

Avoid carrying the dog home. This will likely reinforce the unwanted behavior.

My 2 cents. Although, some Moderators will say I give colossally bad suggestions.
