No matter what I do, I can't seem to potty train my two dogs. They're both 7 year old chihuahuas who live in an apartment and use pee pads, but tend to miss alot and cost me my carpet. Now they're even starting to go in places I never wanted them to go, forcing me to put a pad there. They came from an owner who owned 9 other chihuahuas and used pads too. They also currently live with a cat too who doesn't have any bladder problems.
I'm trying to potty train them to go outside but they never want to go as long as I'm watching. The oldest will not go no matter what as long as I'm in the room while the youngest just doesn't prefer it. I know I need to conquer this step before they would even consider going outside but I'm not really sure how to do it. I don't want to keep an eye on them, making sure they don't go because I don't want their bladders to get dangerously full or anything. Any help would be appreciated.
