To post on another thread before introducing myself. :)

I'm Linz, and this is at least the 4th dog forum I'm on. I have 2 dogs - 10yr old Milly, aka Madam Milly, a Whippet X Jack Russel terrier X monumental PITA with a splash of veloceraptor in there somewhere I think. 😁

Milly is a rescue-rehome case who has sparked my life and been the reason I'm losing my marbles for roughly 9 of her 10 years on Planet "Earth". If I was to write a biography about Milly, it would be somewhere between Marley and Me and Lassie Come Home - make of that what you will. ;)

And Honey, aka Princess Honey, a pedigree Chihuahua (because she thinks she's a Princess :p ) She's a Free to good Home case that came to live with me about 15mths ago, when she was 5. Previous owners adored her - but as a living teddy bear, not for the dog she is. She was a little girl's pet, carried everywhere, to the point where her previous owners insisted she "wouldn't walk". She was walking within 3 days with me. Now she hates - fears even - being picked up.

She's mentally traumatised by her previous life, and I'm still unpicking all the damage, but we've come a long way. I love to watch her running towards me - there's a look of pure joy on her face when she does.

Both girls are my life. I had a recent pulmonary embolism scare which meant I was taken to A&E and the girls went to my brother's overnight. Next morning, waiting for my appointment to go for scans, I was lost without them and was glad to have them back.

So that's me and mine. I look forward to seeing you on the forum's.

I think most Jack Russels have a touch of velociraptor in there somewhere. :)

Yep.. chihs aren't teddy bears, despite common beliefs. I wish people would let their dogs be dogs. Trust me, if I had a small dog i'd carry it around for sure, snuggle it, and just let it know its loved. But my small dog would also be trained, and disiplined, and hardy. Small dogs aren't fragile, and they can do just the same as big dogs, but in a teeny package. Wish people would let dogs be dogs! Imagine being carried above the world all the time? With no way to feel the dirt under your feet.. (or paws), smell the smells, or meet other dogs face to face.. sad.

And their crosses. :D. She's pretending to be asleep right beside me now. :)

I totally agree. She's a completely different dog now. The dog she should always have been. :)
