My cousin got a puppy and I was wondering how old he looks to you. Long story short my cousin found a puppy in a shed, asked the owner for it, thye said yes and my cousin didn't ask his parents. They are known for getting dogs, then once they hit 6 months send the dog to the pound as a "stray". So they asked me if I wanted him. It was HARD to say no but parents said no and after thinking about it I agreed. I think a different cousin is going to take him though. Buddy(dogs name) is a blue tick/beagle mix. The size of a yorkie so I would say no more than nine weeks. Does that sound right?

He looks like a bluetick X beagle and comparing him to the size of the foot next to him (kinda) I'd say 9 weeks is about right. A beagle would be smaller than that, I think, but a Bluetick would be bigger.

And re-reading your post, I see that he is a bluetickXbeagle. my bad xD

Poor thing needs some food though.

Yeah, I told my cousin he needs to go to the vet and don't give him lots of food though. He needs weight but don't want to shock his system. So my cousin is going to make a vet App. tomorrow and see what kind of food they recommend for him, how much ect..

I began by very small meals .... like 1/4 cup meals about 4 times a day with an emaciated Lab mix puppy once. Fresh water available at all times. She seemed to do well and not get any digestive issues that way.

The poor thing needs some nutrition of some sorts in him until he gets to the vet. He may have worms eating away at his insides too!

He is really cute even though he is a mess. :) Poor baby!

I said 1/2 cup 3 time a day. Is that bad?? She went to wal-mart and got Purina puppy chow :/ Not the best but doesn't want to "over-due" it, without the vet telling her a better kind of food. . I think he has worms, also. Very pot-bellied, when he went to the bathroom it was runny and weird colored(know what I mean?). She is having a full body check-up done on him and with that should they automatically draw blood for parasites?

Until tomorrow ... 1/2 cup 3 times a day should be fine. He is keeping it down and acting ok? He should be fine until the vet says what to do.

I am not sure what all they will do ... but worming should be one of the things they will do. :) I have my rescues checked for Heartworm also ... that is a blood test too.

He is acting fine and gums are nice and pink. Not dehydrated at all and yesterday was running with Bentley in the yard. I will have her mention a heart worm test.
