Cthullu, a 1 year old Great Pyrenees, was neutered on Monday. The vet told us to have him "take it easy" for "a few days". Um, that's a bit on the vague side... Yesterday he was fine with 2 short walks (about 1/4 mile each) and just sniffing things around the house and chewing on a kong. Today, he is obviously bored... So what can I do with him, and what would be too hard on him? Like, can we go on a longer walk? Play fetch in the back yard? I've been doing short training sessions with him all day, but even that he's getting bored with... How soon can he go back to normal activity?

Generally you want to avoid running and jumping. These are the activities that are most likely to rip a stitch. Maybe take him for more short walks. Puzzle toys and training are great for working the mind.

Usually no running/jumping for about 2 weeks. I'd say walking (most any distance) would be fine. Avoid letting him go in water, or deep grass/shrubs/groundcover that may scratch/irritate the incision area.
