Sasha is on a limited ingredient diet to rule out a food allergy as the cause for frequent itching. She gets venison (6-7oz), barley (1/2 cup) and vegetables (1/2 cup) plus added olive oil (1 tablespoon) three times per day. Deer bones and organs are not available to us, so I wonder if I need to give her a supplement of any sort.

Yes, she needs to have calcium added at a rate of 900 mg elemental calcium per pound of meat [different supplements would have differing measures to come up with 900 mg]. Since this is an elimination diet don't use egg shell! NOW makes a food grade calcium carbonate supplement.

If you happen to have access to venison liver you could add in about one ounce per pound of venison meat and the diet would be even better.

Good luck, itching is horrible.
