Odin is now 5 months old. When we got him I thought he walked funny but the vet had checked him over and said he looked like a healthy puppy. I have noticed over the last month and a half that he will run (zoom) and then all of a sudden start limping while pulling his back leg up. He ran and hit the wall the other day and hit his back left hip but began to limp while pulling up his right back leg. He was holding it funny as if it was out of joint. My husband manipulated it and heard a "pop". Odin began to walk fine. This happens with both his back hips. The vet has manipulated them and insists they are fine and no x-rays are needed to check them. I am concerned but it was suggested to me that his ligaments are not fully formed yet because of his age and that when he is a little older this may stop happening. Has anyone ever experienced this before?

my aussie/x rescue has patella problems as well, and we get the same pattern- zoomies, sudden very noticeable limp, and the vet can "pop" it very easily.

Were his sire and dam OFA tested at all? OFA is *usually* hips but they do patellas as well.
