Welcome, but I don't understand the difficulty people have with posting an introduction.

Do you have a dog or dogs? What kind(s?)
What's your level of experience?
What brings you to dogforums?

These are suggestions, not requirements. The introductory post itself is required because it helps us weed out 90% of the spammers.

Apologies RonE, I didn't expect anyone to look at my post! I have a Red Australian Cattle dog, he is 3 years old and 100% deaf. He's an active boy and I absolutely love going on adventures with him. Unfortunately I'm having some trouble teaching him anything beyond the basics, which is a huge shame because he's so eager to learn and very intelligent. I joined this forum with the hope that I might be able to learn about how to effectively train him and hopefully meet some other people who have dealt with similar situations :)
