Recently adopted a foxhound/pit mix. Can someone give advice about basic obedience? This is not my first dog! But she has me stumped.

Basic obedience classes will cover just about everything you'll need and are pretty inexpensive. The start out teaching attention, how to movitate, how to correct/when not to correct, how to break the work down into simple steps and much, much more.

I did basic obedience with my last dog. She was a black lab/chow mix. Very stubborn, but instantly bonded to me. The problem with the new dog is that she seems to be ADD. The obedience techniques I remember don't seem to be working. Maybe I need a refresher. I would love to use the Monks of New Skete methode. I'll reread and sign up for some classes

I think you'll find that the class methods might have changed since you were there last. Most start out with the attention work...how to get it....how to keep it....which sounds like what you need.
