I just recused a 3 yr she coonhound she isn’t spayed yet last Saturday and it started out great. I drive a school bus so I’m only gone a couple hours at a time. Monday I came home,Marble, Connor and I went on a long walk. Everything was great until around 1:30 and Mable started to chase her tail and howling. I took her the emergency vet and had her checked out and they can’t find any reason why she was doing this. Thinking it was anxiety I was given some Trazodone. I gave her one every hour for four hours with little affect. She also gets aggressive and snaps at me. I was hoping someone else had the same problem that could help me.

Not sure what a she**** is, at least not dog wise. But as for your question, most of us here can only give guesses, thus we'd be chasing our tails too so to speak. I suggest you seek the aid of a professional, and please, keep us in the loop...

I’m new it this coonhound and it *** it out no

A Coonhound is a breed of dog recognized by the AKC. You have to make it all one word, or it appears the program will strike it out. I have edited your post so it includes the breed of your dog to avoid confusion by other members.

It would help if you explained what you and your dog were doing in the instances she snapped at you. You should also call your vet and related this symptoms to them.

Tail chasing (especially obsessive tail chasing) is a genetic hard wired behavior. If the dog is an obsessive tail chaser you can TRY different medications but you may not be successful in eliminating the behavior. Some dogs become so obsessed with the behavior it is all they do and, yes, sometimes the only answer is euthanasia. I know that sounds harsh but it has happened in the German Shepherd breed.

As far as snapping at you, a confirmed tail chaser is often so driven to continue to chase it's tail your interference is not welcome and the obsession can end up being redirected to you.

I wanted to give everyone an update on Mable. She is now doing great. All that was going on with her seems to mental. I still give her a tranquilizers every now and again but overall doing great. She hasn’t chased her tail in about four days and is very happy. It’s amazing what a lot of attention and a lot of love can do for an animal.
thank you for all your suggestions and help.
