Over the last few days my dog has developed a tennis ball size lump on his groin and his leg has swollen (doubled in size) I can’t get him in vets till next Monday

Oh, yikes! I'd send that picture to the vet, and see if they can't get you in sooner. A LOT sooner. That is an emergency situation.
