I recently got a new puppy-an Akita; his name is Izumi. He is a very sweet dog and easy to train. But we have a little problem. He loves to be pet, and anything except being brushed. The second he sees the brush, he tries to grab it away from me and will not let me touch him with it. I've tried giving him treats when the brush is out, so he will associate positive things with it, but it doesn't seem to be working. Any suggestions?

have you tried letting him work at getting the treat while you are grooming him, and then giving him the whole treat at the end? This should work because he is fully distracted while you're brushing him. Hope it helps!
