I have a 4 1/2 year old male yorkie named Champ and well he just wont play! ive bought him squeeky toys and balls and just looks at them and turns away he just lays around.... we just moved into an apartment about a week ago and before he used to run around and play with the other dogs at my moms house but here its just Champ no other pets... could this be the reason why hes not playing?? what should i do??

That sounds pretty accurate...give it a couple weeks. The seperation of other dogs and people can be hard on a dog the first few weeks. Go back to tricks for treats and play some and he will bounce back.

If he continues call your vet to double check all is ok.

Some dogs don't play. It's just the way they are. My cocker spaniel is usually that way although he did come up to me yesterday with a tennis ball in his mouth. I don't have a clue where he got the tennis ball, but I think he was trying to give me a hint.

Sounds like you're his new playmate. Have you tried playing with him?

im trying to but just not working out like i wish... find out when i leave for work in the morning he gets really mad and goes into the bedroom and barks at my fiance to wake up :)

Some dogs play differently than other dogs. Kaki won't look twice at any kind of toy or bone but once we get her out and off the leash, she goes crazy with the zoomies. Try new things with him. Get him out and about with some other small dogs.
