Hi im brand new here! I have an 8 month old gsd and ive been training her since the day we brought her home but im having so much trouble. She seems to know all the commands sit, down, stay, leave it, come, heel etc. But I need help on advice for fine tuning it. She is an ace at hand signals. Any time she is looking at me and I do one she will listen right away. She usually isn't looking at me though im teaching the focus command. But with the voice commands she seems really confused. Sometimes il say sit and she will lay down or walk away. How can I teach her the voice coommands?

Donna Hill is great at this kind of stuff. Here is her video on how to add a cue to a behaviour, and also how to put an old behaviour on a new cue (such as changing from a hand signal to a verbal cue).
