Just introducing myself...

My babies are Carson, a two year old that looks just like a Golden Retriever, but DNA test says Chow/Bassett. And our little 12 week old girl Sadie who we just adopted this weekend! We're told she is a Boxer mix, but the jury is still out on that one!

So so. He loves the dog park and likes to wrestle, but he is very reserved around the puppy. She'll sniff his paw and he'll draw it back. But he seems to be warming up. They were chasing each other around the yard this morning!

Welcome to the forum! If they're chasing each other around the yard already, that's a good start! My dog Potsie, also does the "don't touch me" behavior with Maddie in the house sometimes; at other times, they sleep next to each other, and we've had Maddie for around 3 months now. Patience is the key - don't force anything.

Yep. Gotta let him ease into it. Funny thing was we had another home visit with another puppy (a male and a bit older) and he played like crazy with him! So when we decided instead on Sadie we didn't think he would have any issue at all. Maybe he sensed before any of us that the first pup was just a visitor!
