Hello to all, I just have a few questions. We adopted a HW positive basset hound a month ago and the shelter is providing the 3 shot series of HW treatment. She went in Tuesday for her first shot, which left her very sore but she is doing better.

My question is we know she needs to keep as low active as possible but how paranoid should we be as parents. We have a fenced in yard which she goes out and wanders around normally, she isn't going for any walks right now and most of her day is spent walking around the house or laying down. Do we need to be overprotective and keep her crated, which is very hard to do as she will cry constantly. We do crate her when we leave the house as she is very mischievous and has already shown her ability to get into things quite easily. We just don't want to go overboard if we do not have to when it says to leash walk only is that just if she is going for a walk or is it ok to let her walk around our fenced in back yard.

We did have to put all of her toys up as she does love to play with her stuffed animals.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated to put us at ease we don't want to live on pins and needles the next several months and we want her to be able to enjoy herself as well.

Thanks!
