I didn't want to hijack the other thread about camping. I am trying to find out about taking our dogs to Cherokee,NC or to the Great Smoky Mountains to camp and hike. We;ve been there before and seen tons of people with dogs out hiking but I keep reading that it isn't dog friendly. I didn't know if something has changed or if people are just breaking the law. Has anyone actually been there and have input?
Have you ever been to Cherokee,NC with your dog?

If you are talking about going to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park then taking the dog is a problem. Dogs are not allowed on any trails in the National Parks. They are only allowed in paved areas on leashes. I don't know about the areas outside of the parks.
