Hey guys my dog recently has been having back problems and doesn’t use his back legs. Wheelchairs are too expensive right now but he knows how to at least drag his hind legs to get to places. He still scrapes up his hind feet with his booties on. What can I put on his feet and legs to protect him when he’s dragging himself around. Thank you

Have you thought about a DIY wheelchair?

You could try draping a towel under his midsection and help hold him up with the ends (like a 'U' shape).

appropriate sized piece of plywood
something soft on top where the dog interfaces
bottom of plywood, several small casters (freewheel any direction)
cheap at any harbor freight
then some sort of strap affair to keep the dogs hind section on the device

are you handy with saw, screwdriver and scissors?
if not, ask a friend, ask a neighbor

luck!
