Well, first off, Hello :D I stumbled across this forum while randomly researching RCs. I'm a member of a rat forum, but I have a real passion for dogs so I thought I'd give this one a try.
A little about me before my pooches. I just turned nineteen (literally a couple weeks ago) so you'll have to pardon the ignorance of me. Aside from dogs, I also have two rats, one standard Black English Irish called Kalabar, and his friend Cassius, a standard double rex (nearly completely hairless). As well, in April I will be celebrating one year since adopting Draevyn, a little mixed breed cat who drives me insane. He's rude, two faced and breaks everything he can, and I'm pretty sure he -at this exact moment- is picking on the Chihuahua. But I love him anyway. Haha.

I have a real passion for Siberian Huskies, Working German Shepherd Dogs and Redbone Coonhounds. I think everybody has a breed their consider 'theirs'. Redbones are mine. I absolutely adore them even though I haven't had one for a very long time. I help a neighbor with hers, however. Nice to live vicariously through another.

SO ANYWAY.
At the moment I have three dogs. And I'll just list links to their picture since I'm too lazy to make them little for the forum. Each of them have a little story behind them. I like telling stories so prepare xD

Growing up dogs came and went, mostly Redbones, a GSD once, but my first true canine companion was Troubles Laurence (I have zero idea how I came up with that middle name. I think it was a moment of panic when the vet asked for a middle name xD ). I got him in 2004 as a gift. To be perfectly honest, when I was told I was getting a dog I could keep inside, my mind instantly pictured a Golden Retriever or some otherwise fluffy puppy. But, I came home one day with the bathroom light on the door closed, and pee pads stuck to the floor. I barely even saw him. He was tini.

I'm very very proud of my Chihuahua. I have known plenty of them and have been bitten by plenty of them. Troubles has never bitten anybody, not even annoying children, though he doesn't make a habit of getting to chummy with them, and he isn't 'yappy'.

He'll be celebrating his 8th birthday in May.

Anddd here's where I ask that I please do not get flamed. I would not trade my Sibe for any amount of riches, even if she is a fruit loop. When I did was sheer ignorance and impulse, something I will not be doing again.
When I was in 8th grade, my father and I went to a flea market, and in random conversation about dogs, I mentioned something about wishing I had a husky. Well, we walked through the outdoor portion first, and lo and behold, there, with a sign saying Siberian Husky puppies, sat a crate... empty. Oh I thought I missed it. I was so sad. At the end of our walk through, buying nothing, for some reason my father decided to cut back through the outdoor portion again. I looked longingly at the cage... and as if by magic, there laid a little white Siberian Husky puppy. I could go on forever about my elation like I could go on forever about how far from breed standard she deviated. I didn't know, though. There was five minutes of 'Oh daddy please's and I took her home. From what I understand, someone found a cuter puppy and returned her. Nobody else wanted her because she wasn't marked. As I later found out, she also had something wrong with her leg and a few other problems.
But, I present to you Aleu's Nothern Aurora Dreamer - "Aleu/Allie/Leu". She loves veggies and sour things, and in her world cats are squeaky toys and should be thoroughly thrashed before being nomed.

She actually just celebrated her 5th birthday the 9th of January. I baked her an insanely dry cake which she shared with friends, and she got new squeakers, a pretty new collar and a new leash.

And finally, the problem child, the mutt, the destructive one, my baby, Diesel. This dog has done more for me than my human family can ever come close to. He's been there for me through absolutely everything, and despite all the fault that others see, I can't ask for anything better. Though, it might be nice if he didn't try to eat the UPS man.
Diesel is a four year old Pit X Border Collie. I think he looks like a miniature Newfie, to be honest. Aleu found him, actually. She insisted we explore a pile of garbage on the side of the road. out of nowhere came barreling this bulky black ball, snarling and snapping. Initially I thought we were being attacked by a bear, so I scooped Aleu and Troubles up and ran out of the way. But, I was interested, so I went back, but from a different side. turns out, it was a puppy. He was missing hair on his backside and chest, and he was hiding between two mattresses. It was absolutely pitiful the way he watched the road, like he was waiting for his people to come back for him. I convinced him to come home with me.
There was no point in looking for owners because I knew he was a dump job. Just taken and thrown out with their trash. For a long while he always watched vehicles with longing eyes and it broke my heart. I was told I couldn't keep him, so I began searching for a new home. My neighbors asked for him because he was so kind. So I lent them a tie out, a dog house, bowls and a week's worth of food, and some toys. For the first week. He was getting walked every day, fed three times a day, played with. All was well. But the novelty of a puppy began to wear off. They stopped walking him. He NEVER got socialized (which is now a big problem) The kids quit playing with him, and within the first three weeks, they had COMPLETELY stopped feeding and watering him. It was over. He was tied in their back yard to rot. They didn't care if he was too hot or cold, if he was hungry or thirsty. So, like I always do, I started sneaking him food and water, then asking if I could walk him, then asking if I could groom him (he has quite the coat) then I started just taking him on walks without asking, feeding him right in front of them, I took him to get his shots and I took him to local festivals. Two years ago they began talking about how they wanted their yard back and were going to give him away. So in a fit of tears, I told them where they could kiss me, and repo'd my puppy, who's not so puppyish anymore. By them, he's since been replaced with a Shi'tzu who I detest and a Dachshund. You know "cute, purebred" dogs. (Not to imply anything those breeds but against these individuals themselves) Whatever. They don't know what they're missing, what they've missed for the past four years. And the people who dumped him out don't know what they've missed either.
I've watched this dog gently pick a kitten up and hand it back to it's mother then snap a bone in half. He has protected me from danger, and been my partner on many great adventures. He has been my shoulder to cry on, and every night before he goes to bed he stand up, wraps his arms around my neck and puts his head on my shoulder. I rub his back and kiss him and tell him goodnight. I know you're not supposed to play favorites with your pets, especially dogs, but he and I are... different with one another. He is also highly bonded with Aleu. It's adorable, really.
Time for the picture parade :D

Welcome to the forum!

Your dogs are very beautiful :) and I too am a lover of the Siberian Husky breed and am owned by an eleven and a half month old black and white blue eyed girl with a heart condition.

Also, no one here will flame you for how you got Aleu :).

Thanks :D
I love them very, very much.

That's good to learn, Niraya. Many others have thrown it against the fan and back at me for that in the past.

We all come across our dogs in different ways - some find theirs in ditches or in shelters/rescues on their last legs and others still from breeders (be them ethical or not[though we don't promote getting dogs from the former :D]). They're still our dogs and we will love them with all our hearts no matter how we found/got them and from that point all we can do is learn.

Your stories are great! You should consider writing them down and submitting them to magazines! The dogs are great too -- I bet the Chihuahua rules the pack doesn't he?? LOL!

Haha, I never thought about that.
Actually he doesn't, the sibe does. The boys let the girl control them. Her wish is their command. It's a futile hope, really. They can kiss her hand all they like but it isn't going to happen xD
