This is my cousin's dog and I am challenging the users of DF to guess what breed/mix he is. He is four years old and that's all the info you get.
oh and I'm the one holding him and I am 5'5"

After enough people put down their guesses I will reveal the answer!
and the winner(s) get a free invisible cookie!! (woo hoo!)

My cousin would like to know what your responce is to this new info.
Nice looking field Lab, but doesn't look to be in prime condition...since your cousin asked.
lol, I was thinking, its a purebred lab... No, that's too easy.... :p
I think what we're seeing is the difference between the show-type dog and one from hunting lines. Very impressive!

well it has just been a long winter so he might not be as toned as usual, but in the summer she does 3 miles a day jogs with him and he could keep going.
No cookie!!! waaaaa! lol

I thought he had Lab IN him, but I didn't know he was purebred. oh well. I'm sure he can run all day and bring back the birdies!
He is a purebred Labrador Retriever. His name is "Webshire's Runt Hunts it Up" Call named, Hunter. He is from Chamion hunting lines. His sire is "NFC NAFC Five Star General Patton MH" and his dam is "FC AFC Webshire's Green Wing Teal MH"

and he is also trained in Hunting and is amazing, and should get hunting titles easily.

Lol, I guess my response, I've never seen a lab so... dainty! Most of the labs I've seen have blockier faces, bulkier chests, and thicker legs. The difference is only slight, though, it's not like we're talking about a pit bull or something XD And I suppose I'm not all that well acquainted with "champion" type labs!

Plus, it's sort of a misleading thread, lol! XD Most "guess the breed" threads are of rescued mutts, and they wouldn't be asking if it was anything obvious like a lab! Hehe =D

I was going to say lab/hound. I think part of the misconception is the way that he's stacked. I've never seen a lab stacked with it's tail up like that. I had a field (trial bred) lab growing up though so I'm familiar with the slighter built dogs. They certainly look different than show dogs for sure.

I wish I had a better picture of him:

my dad will kill me for that, lol!

lol Ya I held his tail up I did that intentionaly to throw people off. but he does hold his tail up and curled slightly more like a harrier. If anyone has ever gone to the "Ducks Unlimited" fetivals you might have seen T-shirts with this boys daddy on them. his Sire is famous in the hunt trial world.
I call foul. I thought it was a lab... I want my cookie.
OK invisiable Cookies for everyone!
Mmmm. Tasty!
Yeah, I've seen lots of Labs that look like that. Can't say I'm really a fan of the look. I like a thicker Lab. Interesting about the tail.....my grandpa's Lab had a curly tail like that. I always thought it meant mixed blood somewhere way back. Maybe not.
If you would like to see a couple videos of him here are the links he is the larger Lab the smaller one is his niece.

Update: I just gave my Rusty his summer haircut (trim off the feathers, and knock his mane and ruff down a tad) and am embarrassed to report he is not in "prime" condition, either. He still present a nice silhouette, but he's looking a little squishy inside his skin. Long winter indeed!
