We are thinking of adding a dog to our family and are stuck between a Golden and a ESS.
Any suggestions? Particularly their health, eating habits and personalities?

You really can't go wrong with either breed. However, Goldens have a very high risk of getting cancer. ESS especially the field variety have a tendency to be very healthy. The field variety are more energetic though then a bench ESS. ESS are very easy to train and a very friendly. The only negative is the grooming.
