Hi!
We just got a labradoodle! yay! but this weekend my parents have invited us to go to an outdoor concert event. Dogs are allowed but they have to stay in a dogs only area and I'm afraid Schemi is too young. I don't want to leave her at the kennel because I've heard that it's extremely expensive and they don't pay attention to the dogs. Does anyone have advice?

There are plenty of good kennels out there, but you have to do your research and now you don't really have time. You don't have a lot of time to find a reliable housesitter either, though, unless you have a close friend or family member who can step in. I gotta agree with Westhighlander. If it were me, I'd skip the event, get my pup settled in, and do some research on kennel/housesitting options.

have a friend come over and house sit or at least come over to feed/exercise/let dog out. or pay a pet-sitter to do it if you can find one.

I wouldn't take it to the concert kennel, that just sounds awful.

It's such a new dog and has probably been through so much change lately, I would just stay home. It's too last minute.

i would have a friend watch the dog or skip the concert.

a lot of kennels have age minimums and a young puppy won't be able to stay there anyway. i was looking a while back and they wouldnt take a pup under six months.

also a kennel is an unfamiliar place and might be really scary to a little puppy to take it out of its familiar home.

i think it would be better for the puppy and you, for it to stay home, with you, or with a sitter.

If the pup has not had ALL of her vaccines she shouldn't be going anywhere in public.

Do your pup a favor and stay home to get acquainted.

Dogs like children change your life and the way you do (or don't do) things. It's not as easy to just up and do certain things. IMO, you should skip the concert.
