I rescued my baby girl Sima about two weeks ago- she's a border collie mix and about two years old. I am her primary owner- currently we're staying with my parents but only for the next couple weeks. Then we'll only be here for school breaks and visits. Even though my dad came with me on the day we adopted her, she gets really nervous around him. Sometimes she'll growl or bark, or just back away. I've gotten a special treat that only my dad is allowed to give her and I've told him to mostly ignore her whole she learns that he's not a threat.
My question is, would it be helpful to take an article of clothing he's worn and keep it in her kennel to acclimate her? Or would this stress her out? She spends just about all her time in the kennel. Would it help to also include an article of my own clothing? Any other suggestions are welcome!
