Hey!
I’ve got a 5 month old German shepherd/ lab mix. We’ve had her on Orijen since we got her and she’s loved it! However She’s starting to now not eat it all. We started to add bits of meat etc to it to get her to but she’s now eating the kibble until the meat has gone. Vet recommended royal canin as an alternative but we’re a little hesitant. Anyone have another recommendation?

I've fed a lot of different foods to a lot of different dogs over the years, and tend to keep coming back to Pro Plan.

Are you over-feeding? The guidelines on the bag often require too much food.

Been feeding my dog a 50/50 combo and ain't had no compaints yet...

If and when my pup decides not to eat its current chow, i'll just buy something else and hope for the best. When i originally got my pup, i was going to buy royal canin but considering they only sold 30 lb bags for a tiny boxer i didn't buy it. After a few months, i took another look at royal canin and noticed they slap a picture of every dog in creation claiming each food contains a special formula for that breed of dog. Come'on man, here's the deal, i'd rather feed my pup chuck wagon before i buy into that royal bs....

And since I made that comment, I've decided to switch foods. I still like Pro Plan, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it, but I think the new Sensitive Skin and Stomach Salmon and Rice formula no longer agrees with my GSD. Which just goes to show you that there is no perfect "one size fits all" recommendation when it comes to food.
