:eek:They are about to put down FOUR dogs! Three are mini daschunds like Pickle and one is a mini schnauze. I went to the animal shelter to look for a dog for my friend I saw these dogs and they started playing with me and they where just adorable and sweet. Then I said as a little remark to the worker "I Bet all of these dogs are spoken for!" and he said "Actually these four right here (pointing to the four dogs) are being put down today if someone don't buy em' soon." Well I actually started crying and imediantly said "I want them how much??" So I have four new dogs. One of them is Samantha and she pees everytime you touch her or look at her... How do I fix that and work with her? Another is Charlie, she's just a sweetie pie. Another is Brainard the schnauzer he is so energetic and the last is Frodo, he is dominatiing them all but Brainard. Was this a bad Idea. Pickle has a HUGE yard big enough for him and he's already started playing with them. I got them all crates and beds food water dishes toys and all that and all leashes collars and pet ID tags...
It feels good to have saved four dog's lives but I went from one dog to five in a few split minutes...
I will post pictures of them....
I will warn you the mini schnauzer's hair cut is FUNKY because the old woman who had him had problems with the shaver and just shaved.

Ok they are all a bit camera shy and another problem has just occered..... Brainard the schnauzer attacked Pickle to the point where he was crying.... no bad injury just.... arg... maybe this WAS a bad idea....

Would you consider re-homing one or two of them? What you did is a great thing, but it may not be in Pickle's best interest, and working with one or two rescue dogs is tough, let alone four.

ty so much for saving them...
this is going to be way too crazy for you. i think you need to first start with separating the ones who are not social and aggressive in their own kennels. all this is new to them and they are afraid and altercations will occur.
also, this is A LOT of work, i think you should contact a rescue group for dachshunds & schnauzers and ask if they can help you and tell them the whole story. they might be able to give you a hand. also, maybe put out ads for these dogs and screen some people to see if they will adopt them from you... if you decide to keep them all i hope it works out.
good luck and stay patient. ty again for rescuing them.

WOW thats alot of dogs LOL. whatever you decide I wish you the best. My mom has 5 dogs and its alot...very time comsuming :)

As for the one that pees...our Maggie used to do that when we brought her home a month ago. Everytime someone came over, or my husband came home from work she would get so worked up she would pee. Even if someone went to pet her on a walk (stangers)she would leave a puddle, we just ignored her for a while when we first came home, and told our guests to not look at her or talk to her. And now she never pees when being talked to or petted (just pees now cause she isnt fully trained LOL)

You did a good thing by rescuing these dogs. I applaud you for wanting to make it work. If it doesn't, though, you've gotten great advice about looking at rescue options.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. Don't forget to give Pickles lots of extra love, too.

When I visit my mom, there are 11 dogs all together- 9 are hers/fosters, and I have my two. Its like being part of a Catholic family, we dont have the ability to control ourselves when it comes to adding new family members

PS- Agreed about the peeing thing. She's probably just very nervous.

I would crate and introduce 1 at a time to your dog allow them to interact and then crate and give your dog a break and then bring out one of the other dogs. You also do want the assertive dogs with the more timid scared ones or they will run all over them until things get more normal. The peeing thing could be that she scared or very submissive ect..But you also have to remember that everyone right noe is going to be looking for there place in the pecking order of the pack so that is why you will see some growling fighting ect...Good luck with everything ,I have done rescue and also just from my own dogs we were up to 10 dogs here (10 dogs 4 kids and 4 adults...hahah we truley are Family Circus on a larger scale) A little trying sometimes but there is a house full of love.
