I rotate every few months. I don't have set foods tho. I go to the pet store and check the ingredients in different foods. Whichever I like the best is what I get. So far I like EVO the best and I return to that quite often. I also like Chicken Soup and Nature's Recipe.

How often you rotate will ultimately really depend on your dog. Both of mine have sensitive stomachs so frequent rotation is not really an option for us. I feed a mix of kibble and wet and usually keep my kibble constant (I feed Innova EVO kibble). I do not rotate their kibble any more frequently than every 6 months, but usually I don't even rotate it that often. I do however rotate the wet/canned food they get more frequently because it makes up a smaller portion of their food intake. I buy a large variety of different premium brands (Blue Buffalo, Natural Balance, Cupboard Creations, etc) and formulas of canned food and rotate the canned formulas every 4-6 days.

I have unintentionally been rotating because I was on a quest to find a food I liked (started on Eukanuba then Chicken Soup and now EVO). I almost finished one bag until there was just enough to do a week or so transition to the new bag. My plan was to stick with EVO because we really like it but the more I think about it the more I think I'll try something else next time just for variety. Mojo gets really excited about his food for the first half of the bag and by the middle I can tell he's bored with it so I figure I'll keep mixing it up.

As long as your dog's stomach can take it.. then I don't think there would be any issues doing so. (I.E. his stools are consistent)

The one thing to keep in mind while 'rotating' is to give a full variety of ingredients, to avoid allergen's forming, etc.. So.. if the first 2-4 ingredients include chicken or turkey, try to get something next time that doesn't have chicken or turkey.

I rotate Kiba's food every month or so. The main ones I feed him are EVO red meat, ZiwiPeak venison, Orijen 6 fresh fish and Instinct duck & turkey. He's never bored with his food.

Pretty much just Evo and Taste of the Wild (wet land) every other bag. I toss in some of the Prairie now and then too for a change of proteins.

So far we are rotating between the Orijen and EVO formulations. We will probably throw a few other brands into the mix to give more protein sources, but so far we have not.

We switch it up every 2nd or 3rd XL bag, so every 3-4 months, depending.

It takes Willie so long to go through a bag, that I change every bag or two for sure.....no set kinds.....He will eat anything, and he seems to like when we change and he eats better....With him, it's like he gets bored with it and hardly eats at his twice a day feedings, so switching helps him.....he is lean enough.....LOL.....Right now we are on the end of the bag of CORE (finally) and going to California Natural, Herring and Sweet Potato.

Good Luck!:)

Sasha is the same way. I used to feed her Solid Gold, but after awhile she would eat very little, sometimes even going a day without eating! I switched her to Natural Balance which helped a lot. She loved the different flavor. Right now, she's currently on the Venison & Sweet Potato formula and she loves it! She's gets a little bit of canned mixed in as well for a little enticement....spoiled baby  I plan on trying a few other brands as well once she goes through all the flavors. I know for sure I'm going to try Wellness, but I'm not sure what else yet.

I rotate Hallie's food between Wellness super 5mix the fish forumla, TOTW pacific stream, and natural balance every bag and it usually takes her about 2 weeks to get through a bag.
TOTW and Wellness are the fish varieties for Hallie's coat and her usual dandruff after just 1 month and a half her skin isn't full of dandruff for once and it's nice and shiny :)

I feed EVO Red Meat & the poultry kibble, and recently added TOTW Roasted Bison & Venison, and raw dehydrated Herbed Lamb & Potatoes, and Homestyle Venison & Cranberry Dinner from New Zeland's Addiction Foods.

Rotation variies, depending on which EVO I get (red meat one month, poultry the next), then add the TOTW, and Addiction Foods dehydrated to the EVO. In addition, they get fresh meat, eggs, sardines in olive oil, yogurt, low fat cottage cheese, etc.
