Hello,
Her hair looks thin and pink seems to getting worse no clumps hair falling out no scratching very said she dont look has allergy but looks like something is going on to me .
made apt next week new vet.
any ideas ?

Just a heads up, for the safety of you and your dog, this forum doesn't allow members to guess at medical diagnoses. We can only offer advice for managing and coping with conditions that have been seen and diagnosed by a vet. It's impossible to verify if anyone posting here has veterinary credentials, and even so, there are a LOT of health problems that look very similar in photos, but require very different treatments. It'd be awful if someone was told their dog had a minor issue, and didn't get to the vet in time because of that advice, or was given at-home care advice that actively harmed their dog.

I totally understand being anxious about a new pup! Especially one coming to you in tough shape. Absolutely write down questions so you can remember everything when you see the vet, take videos if you do start seeing concerning behaviors like excessive scratching, head shaking, etc., and give your new girl lots of love!

Thank you for your reply, I was hoping to get suggestions if anyone else experienced thinning chihuahua hair, I did go to the vet on all my questions and he didnt know is why I found this site and came here.

I appreciate you explaining it to me and that is alot of good points i wasn't considering or thinking of. Thank you for your time explaining it and that makes great sense and I appreciate it thank you

No worries, I totally get the need for answers, it's just tricky to navigate medical problems while keeping posters and their dogs safe online.

If your vet hasn't done a skin scrape to check for mites or other issues, definitely ask to see if that's an option! There's also veterinary specialists available if you run out of options with a general practice vet, but they aren't cheap, so going through some steps with your regular vet to eliminate possibilities might be a better first step.
