My puppy had his first jab 3 hours ago hes usually so happy but now yelping when we try to pick him up, any ideas? he never yelped before

What size dog do you have? When I had a smaller breed, she was tender at her injection site for a day or two. Just try and be gentle, that's all.

Thank you Gizmo is a yorkie and only weighs 0.85 kgs so it may well be he is so tiny, I will sleep on the floor with him all night and turn the heating up and generally pamper the poor little thing

Maddie had a reaction to her shots this year. She didn't have a reaction the year before.
This year she got her round of shots. A couple of days later she had this golf ball size lump between her shoulder blades. I asssume the worse - she has a tumor or something and she's going to die. I called the vet in a panic and they said some dogs have reactions and it will go away in a few days and next year we will have to do something different.
So, I know how you feel. They are tender for a few day. Imagine if you got that many shots all at once. You'd be tender too! Just pamper your baby - they will feel better soon.
