I'm redfailhawk, you may call me either RFH or Maren!
I'm a non-owner looking at getting my first dog some time this year. I'm hoping to get some good advice here, since prior to this I've owned only fish, cats, and hamsters.
I'm looking at a standard poodle or Weimaraner. I want a trekking companion able to do light service work, and I have intentions of running the Appalachian Trail with this dog in a few years. (I am open to other breeds, if anyone has suggestions.)
Any help/advice will be appreciated!
