I have owned dogs many years but have never known you could feed raw eggs!
1. can I feed a raw egg mixed with kibble to my bitch who has a 6 day old puppy?

2. Can I feed it to my 5 month puppy mixed with kibble? They are English Springer Spaniels show type! I do cook an egg & mix it with kibble to encourage her to eat not every day! Just wonder if raw would be more beneficial

I think raw would be better! I've given my bigger dogs the egg whole, shell and all, and they'd eat it just like that! Eggs are very good for nursing bitches as well from what I've read :)

Back in the day, we used to do a lot of this as a supplement - shell and all - even when feeding kibbles and canned foods. But for some years now with all the concern for salmonella and other beasties in raw food, we have stopped doing it. We've never really been what you would call an advocate of totally or even partially raw feeding, but we used to do a lot more of it than we do now.

I wouldn't give a whole one more than a couple times a week because of the avidin, but I give the yolks daily.
