My Min Pin delivered a huge 7 pup litter yesterday. All seem to be doing well except one which is tiny compared to the rest. Its birth weight was 125 gram and it has lost weight to 110 gram today despite my making sure it is getting its turn to get plenty of milk from the dam. Its keen to feed and quite lively, seems perfect except for its size. I tired to feed it some supplementary Royal Canine Baby Dog milk in a small syringe but it won't entertain the idea. I have been able to get a little dextrose and water into its mouth which it swallowed. Mum is as maternal about it as the rest of the brood, she's proving to be a great mum so far. Should I take it to the vet ( its 3.30 am here) tomorrow? Try hand feeding it again? I really don't want to lose any of these precious, planned pups and my mentor lives many miles away. Practical suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
