If you've read my previous threads, you probably know that I've been having a really bad week. To sum it up in a few sentences, my mother-in-law and I got into a huge fight about the way she treats her dogs, which I've been asked to train. We especially got into it about the behavior of the smallest puppy, Blaze, who I just adore. And then, right after that was starting to calm down, I found out that my rabbit managed to get out of his cage and vanish. So yeah, bad week. But today, my husband told me some great news. I guess he and my MIL had a nice little talk about the dogs while I was out looking for my bunny, and somehow, he convinced my MIL to give me Blaze! So while I'll still have to deal with the struggles of her negative influence on the other dogs, Blaze is truly 100% mine to train and discipline and everything as I see fit! :D

Congratulations on your new pup. As far as your MIL goes, they are her dogs and unless she's being abusive to them, it's her rules with her dogs and your rules for your pup. Just as with children, people have differing ways of raising pets and it's best not to get into arguments about it.
