Our 2.5 year old French Bulldog has always been an excessive licker ever since we got him. He’s constantly licking his paws, my dachshund’s ears, or any body part of ours he has access to. Before we would just tell him to stop, put our hand in the way of what he’s licking and he would eventually stop and leave it alone. However, about a week or two ago he was licking the lower part of his front leg so much he developed a sore on it, which is the worst he’s ever done so. We kept a close eye on it and would stop him from licking it every time he tried—eventually it was starting to get better.

Today I came home from a dentist appointment, and as I was getting ready to take the dogs out, I noticed the sore was visibly larger, and now he was also bleeding. Is there any way to try and stop or prevent his excessive licking? I’m not sure if it’s a yeast infection or some kind of other allergy, as he’s on a special kind of vet food because of his yeast infections when he was a puppy.
