today we were just informed that our 11 year old springer spaniel more than likely has advanced cancer that has metastasized to other parts of her body. she has a fast growing lump on her nipple with lumps and bumps everywhere else.
what concerns me is this vet, and another vet last week, wont do tests on her. they wont scan her, biopsy her or operate. they said she has about 6-7 months and if her breathing gets bad to come back for a steroid injection.
You could ask for a referral to a veterinary oncologist, to see if they can give you other options. Mammary cancer is one of the more common types in dogs, unfortunately..
